History

Created in 1998 by Mr Claude Cornaz under the name of Elise SA, Swisselectricity has earned itself a reputation of expertise in regard to major multinational companies around Geneva in the fields of negotiation of electricity purchases and connection duties, and of pricing services and troubleshooting in matters of supply and energy demand.

Two years after its creation, Mr Stéphane Genoud joined Swisselectricity as an associate. The audits on energy issues, which were used so far as negotiation tools, have been further developed and presented to our clients as a fully-independent service. After a period of growth during which the company was able to set up a client portfolio throughout Switzerland and also Europe, Swisselectricity started in early 2004 a new, innovative and strategically essential activity: the running of purchasing groups.


The first of these groups, UIGEM SA, was created in 2003, in partnership with the Union Industrielle Genevoise. The members of the groups are presented with the entire range of services usually offered by Swisselectricity, but expect at the same time to obtain a quality supply, at a negotiated price, in the framework of a liberalized and regulated electricity market. This high added-value activity relies on a unique A.M.R. (automatic meter-reading) system that was developed together with the company MCR&D.

In September 2004, Mr Stéphane Genoud took over the operational control of the company. Meanwhile, Mr Claude Cornaz redirected his activities within the company as Chairman of the Board.

Swisselectricity has currently a team of about ten highly skilled technical specialists, engineers and economists at the service of its clients. With their support, it provides and will continue to provide major energy consumers with a high added-value quality service.
